As you press the F4 key, it cycles through the combinations of:

x1 = locking the column and row - $B$13

x2 = the row only - B$13

x3 = the column only - $B13

x4 = removes all – B13

Back to the formula

Enter =$A13*B12

Press the F4 key twice immediately after selecting B12 – to lock the row only = B$12

Press Enter to confirm

Auto Fill down to row 15

Auto Fill across to column D

Column A13:A15 Addresses

The A column addresses have remained in each formula i.e. they haven’t moved to the right when Auto Filled across the columns because the column has been locked $A13

However, because the row was not locked, the row numbers have updated relatively as they were Auto Filled down
